My apartment in Hastings

These last two days I used to set up the apartment. In one of the junk stores (I visited all of them) I found some cheap and useful things – like a chopping board and some plastic storage boxes for the kitchen.

In a garage sale I made a good deal and got an Espresso machine for eight bucks, it works fine and the milk foam is awesome. In the Warehouse I found some wooden blinds with missing parts for $50,00 instead of $180,00. I assumed the missing parts were the little clips to fix them at the wall, which I got at the hardware store for five bucks. Luckily I was right and everything fits.

In the hardware store I asked for cut offs and got a big MDF board for another five bucks plus the three cuts I needed it cost me the outrageous fortune of $7,00.  With it I will have two makeshift shelves and a big rest for some other use.

When I wasn’t shopping I cleaned the apartment, it took me hours, rearranged the furniture and put up my new bought stuff. Also I removed some of the collected shells and driftwood out of harry and arranged them on the windowsill. Together with the tealight it looks almost like a home, only a carpet is missing. After a first check in a carpet store, I decided to wait for something secondhand because it’s expensive, expensive!
