Frankfurt Airport – two twelve hour legs away from destination one!

The flight from Berlin arrived on schedule. Claiming the luggage took some time, so I was one of the last passengers to check in. The friendly woman at the check in desk told me I needed a visa for Australia, which I had to buy at a different counter. I did as I was told and paid 45,00€ to get a visa which will permit entry to Australia for three months within a year. After finishing the formalities I went to the security check. Finally I say good bye Europe, at least for the next six months!

Today is the day! My flight to Frankfurt is sheduled at 8:10pm. Thereafter Quantas will fly me to Sydney. 24h flying, surely I’m going to die… Almost everything is done, there are only a few things left. Leaving my notice of departure at the „Buergeramt“, packing my handluggage and doing some paperwork. The new Back-pack proved to be very good. Only my sleeping-bag was too much, but I could fasten it with some straps.
